Default Body Tube End Finishing Tool

For those not quite perfect body tube cuts. Got the idea from a recent Sport Rocketry showing something similar, but where no links to STLs were given.

In the default script configuration the changeable dimensions are set for a LOC 29 mm motor tube with both parts of the tool connected with sandpaper in between using a #6-3/8" machine screw with washers on both sides and a wingnut on the top side.

These kinds of tools work pretty well too.

I use one of those, with a coupler in the end of the tube, to put the final touches on the cut end. My cuts are done using a homemade Kuhn Cutter, which usually leaves an edge that requires very little sanding. Also, I use the coupler in the tube to make it more rigid to support the cutting.

Me too, having come up with an exact copy independently before I even knew about that cutter although I use a very large bulldog clip to hold the tube stop. For high power tubing I use an electric scroll saw with an aluminum angle extrusion backstop with a setback just over the tube wall thickness and with a bulldog held stop just like on the Kuhn Cutter. I rotate the tube to cut it. Haven't tried my miter saw with an appropriate blade.

The 3D printed tool easily makes sure the end of the tube is perfectly square.

So does our method.
