Gary Larsen's Farside Rocket... Semi-Scale
Here's a new twist on an olde theme.
1st I scaled the actual cartoon, then made an Open Rocket model, and then a CAD Model.

Yeah... the ACME Spitfire looks totally different than the actual Farside rocket. I contacted Jim Flis and he is following my build.

I cut the tubes and rings and then started to tack the fin can together.

This gizmo attaches to the lower body tube and then glues into the nose cone.

That's looking really good! As a Gary Larsen fan, I think I remember another rocket themed single panel cartoon with three cows that had built a rocket and were getting to launch themselves in it. I'll see if I can find the cartoon.

This one? The "cows rocket" is much more aerodynamic than the "rocket scientist" version.

Nose Cone Hub
I turned the nose cone hub from a scrap piece of a Southern Yellow Pine 4 x 4. Then cut the 22-1/2 degree angle with my chop saw, and drilled the 1" dia. hole. I mocked up the upper tubes and the cone hub to check the fit.
