What Rocket is this?
I built this kit 2-3 years ago and then took a break from rocketry. I found it in my storage box and I don't remember what it is. I think it's a Semroc something or other. Wood nose cone. I added the Estes 24mm motor retainer. It might have the fins on backwards. I've been known to build them that way.........on purpose

Some dimensions like length and body diameter would help. Also did you check the parachute to see if there's a manufacturer's name on it?
Lacking the above I would hazard a guess and say either the Astrobee 350 or the Arcon with reversed, rounded fins. Were you in the habit of rounding squared fin corners? The body diameter would also pinpoint whether it's a Semroc kit or some other manufacturer using standard BT size tubes. Semroc used the ST series tubes, like the old Centuri kits. Also, did you save the instructions, or throw them away? If you have instructions for all your kit builds, you could go through them to check which one this is. Laters. |

Current best guess is the Semroc Manum Hornet with several slight modifications.

Hmmmm. Doesn't look like the Magnum Hornet has swept fins though. http://www.semroc.com/Store/ProdIma...20Hornet-lg.jpg |

I definitely is a Semroc/Centuri Magnum Sprint, not Hornet.
Somebody put some sort of goofy tailcone or motor retainer on it though.

That’s looks like a standard Estes threaded-style retainer. Not very elegant but they do work very well and the price is right.

The OP says in his post that he added the retainer. It could be the Magnum Sprint, but I see a slight sweep on the upper edge. Could be the perspective of the camera shot, but the Magnum Sprint should have a perpendicular leading edge to the tube. http://www.semroc.com/Store/ProdIma...20Sprint-lg.jpg I'm sticking with my guess of the Astrobee 350 or the Arcon. But some dimensions from the OP would really help pinpoint the model. Particularly body tube diameter. |

I think Rocketman nailed it. I measured the rocket and it fits the Semroc Magnum Sprint dimensions. And yes I added the Estes retainer when I built it. It will blend in a bit more when I paint it black.
I think that solves it. At least for me. Thanks for the input gentlemen. Greatly appreciated! |
