AeroTech/Quest have announced a new wireless launch system which uses a cell/smartphone as the launch controller.
More details will come out but it has a range of 150 feet and an SRP of $79.99.

Here's hoping that it's a better implementation than the BlueNose launch controller that was done about 10 years ago (details here: https://www.rocketryforum.com/threa...ntroller.57100/) I have one, and it sort of worked....but doesn't any more because the company disappeared and with it the app was withdrawn from the Apple app store. I can still launch with it by using the built in countdown timer, but there is no way to remotely operate it. They also made some silly design decisions in the cabling and used test clips to attach to the igniter leads. Both cause operational issues. And the thing ran on six AA cells. And finally there was the lack of a removable safety key to meet the Safety Code. Just a little bit of experience with the one I have was posted on the second page of this thread: https://www.rocketryforum.com/threa...aporware.65857/ I expect Gary and company will not make all the same mistakes. I hope. If they do it right I will be very much interested in giving one a go. added: Gary posted quite a bit more about this in the big Aerotech thread on "that other forum". Except for the AA cell thing, it looks pretty good.
