aluminum storage cannisters
I found a source of thin-wall (very light weight) aluminum cannisters, today at a local antique/junk store. I think they would lend themselves to storage and protection of propellant slugs, but you guys tell me---
These things have opaque walls (no damage to contents from sunlight UV) and are unpainted "bare metal" silvery in color. They are circular in cross-section, taper *slightly* larger from the bottom to the top, and have internal space for objects 43-44 mm in diam and 130 mm in length. The lid/top of the cannister is also thin aluminum and has one small hole in the center. When closed the lid can be taped around the edge and over the hole to seal against humidity. These were apparently used to transfer some sort of reagent samples to a local business. One of the ladies at the antique store is married to the guy that receives these supplies, but he has no use for the empty containers and gave them to her to try selling. They are dirt cheap. The ones I grabbed were four for one whole dollar. So if you are interested, PM me. Be aware that shipping adds an immediate $8 or $10 whether by USPS or any other shipper, so you might want to ask for a quantity. I am told we can get just about as many as we want, so shipping costs spread out over a large number would not be so bad. Let me know----
